PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh police responded to the Burger King in the Pittsburgh’s South Side Sunday night, saying workers allegedly walked out on the job.
Police responded to the restaurant on East Carson Street and discovered it was unlocked with no employees inside. A city spokesperson says it appears the employees walked off the job. Police stayed until they could get ahold of someone to secure the building.
However, Burger King employees reported that they were just too short staffed to operate so the manager closed up early... And forgot to lock the door behind him.

There's three McD's by my home and every time I visit one, EVERY TIME, EACH ONE, they tell me the milkshake machine isn't working.
I used to work at McD's as a teenager some 35 years ago. I've eaten at them countless times since then and I've never heard of a milkshake machine being out of order. Milkshakes are a staple of their sales. This is a recent occurrence within the past couple of years but now it's a regular occurrence and no matter which McD's I visit.
I've come to believe that the machine likely works just fine, the employees simply don't want to clean it at closing time.
Its easier then that. BK just puts them on a conveyer belt. All they need is a bun and fry dispenser and the jobs are gone!
Did Police make a few Clean burgers for themselves before they called whoever ?
If I had walked into that Burger King and didn’t see any employees, I would have immediately thought they were all shot dead in the cooler.

Short version: they’re built to fail and require the company ($$) to do service calls.
Same exact thing happened at a Burger King in Lincoln, NE, a few weeks ago.
Kind of hard to tell if a Burger King is opened or abandoned in most cases ...

Not true. Someone has to assemble said bun and burger and anything else you want on it.
That's ironic. The chain was started because Ray Kroc was selling ice cream machines and created the chain as a purchaser of his machines.
Most fast/carryout food leaves a bad taste in my mouth these days. I go to those places occasionally to remind myself why I don't go there anymore.
