Just finally got healed up from a bite from a camel spider.

At least we think it was one. They can run at around 15 MPH. At least that is what they told me.

The bite site itched and peeled and itched and still is itching and I got bit way last march.

My wife has NASCAR the size of a quarter on her leg from being bitten by a brown recluse spider.

When I was in Security Police, I was on the ramp one night at King Abdul Aziz Air Base in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia during Desert Shield in 1990. Watched a HUGE camel spider run up on the lowered ramp of a C-5 and into the cargo bay. Heard five loadmasters yell and run out the front ramp of the aircraft. They didn’t want to go back in, and asked us if we would shoot it.

When we first encountered them here in NM, I looked them up. The information said that though they're not venomous, a bite can get infected because they feed on nasties and they could harbor bacteria. They do have the ability to impart a nasty bite.
