the problem with Elsa (as I understand it) was NOT that she was a strong female protagonist - but that she shirked responsibility and duty and honor to go be a rebel anti-hero - and many thought that was NOT a good “role model”.
I never let my kids go to any Disney movie made after about 60’s. Animated or not, the common theme was usually kid characters were disobedient to parents.
But, the kids would go on adventure while disobeyin
Parents worried all the duration of kid’s absence.
When kids came home parents slobbered all over them rather than swat their little butts and punish them.
Not for my kids.
