Lightfoot, speaking during a press availability on Thursday afternoon, said that city officials are exploring different ways to invest in communities, and said that Chicago will focus on the city’s West Side, which has been ravaged by gun violence.
“It’s obvious: we cannot arrest our way out of this problem,” she said. “Fundamentally, if you look at the West Side and you look at the problems, the opioid addiction that is really harming so many individuals, families and communities, the investments we have to make in human capital and the investments we have to make in infrastructure, those are why I spend so much time on the West Side.”
Lightfoot’s comments come as the city saw three mass shootings on Wednesday alone. One teen was killed in North Lawndale, and at least 17 other people were injured in the three attacks, which occurred within a six-hour span of one another.
In all, nearly 30 people were shot on Wednesday alone, according to Chicago police.(snip)
“I really do believe that as goes the west side, so goes the rest of the city of Chicago,” she said. “If we can get it right here, with the mix of resources and investments and capacity building in neighborhoods, empowering residents to be able to hold the territory under their feet, with our help and our support not just in the short-term but in the long-term, that’s really what the investments have to be about, and I’m totally committed to that.”

Actually, they can arrest their way out of this, but they have to stop letting them go.
Drugs, yeah I guess DEA. Murder, FBI if it involves racketeering or interstate crime sprees. Or state police. No will to do it.
That is one way off the plantation. The Democrats, however, control those who count the votes. And they will never let their pets off the plantation.

It is obvious that Lightfoot is incapable of thinking her way out of the problem too.
Close to 90% of the homicide cases have no identified suspect, so that makes it hard to make arrests.
Even she could not be that stupid???. Substitute WON’T for can’t and it would be accurate though.
Since the corporations and FedGov love the CCP so much just take their playbook on how to solve the opium crisis. Shoot lawbreakers in the back of the head. If they love that system so much they should emulate them.
They want the crime.
If you defend yourself they arrest you instead.
They would rather murder gun owners for daring to own guns than do anything about criminal thugs.
Remember, it’s “raycis” to hold gang members accountable for their crimes, it is “white supremacy” to believe you shouldn’t be robbed.
Stopping crime is a trivial exercise.
Arrest the criminals and throw them in jail for a long time.
It works.
Any other approach is doomed to failure.
The guns are the way the Drug Cartels enforce their drug marketplace. So they buy them up from Mexican police departments who are hard up for funding and send up to our drug infested American cities. Most of those cities are run by Democrats who get their pockets lined by the cartels.
It is obvious why no mention of the root of the violence: Drug sales. It is obvious they are deflecting from this root problem by blaming the weapons and wanting to take them for the law abiding while doing nothing to the lawless.

Chicago = Cloward-Piven style assault on 2nd amendment. Overload the system with enough of what society chooses to legally maintain to the point of it causing a collapse on itself. Then start over. That’s why we always need “New Laws” which are never enforced. Defund the police and make them useless. Progressives accept that it’s ok to destroy a society which resists their doctrine. They lose at the ballot box so they prefer to dismantle the thing they can’t win.

I’m not history buff. To my limited knowledge of human history, no civilization was created or maintained by blacks. What is happening in South Africa is very normal and in some way it’s same as what’s happening here, to different extent.
Another immediate way is to START ARRESTING CRIMINALS, esp. those with weapons and having a No-Bail policy for all of them.
Leftist angry lesbian officials never seem to think of this as a rational policy, or a policy at all, and in Chicago, “her people” continue to bleed and die in the streets while she blames inanimate objects for doing the shootings.
Next she’ll go after bow and arrows when one is used in a crime.
