For the UAW to prevail, workers would have to vote yes, and wages likely would be far lower than at a car factory. Other battery plants typically pay $15 to $18 an hour, compared with a top hourly wage of around $30 for a UAW-represented worker at an assembly plant.
The way things are going, only the wealthy will be able to drive which is what I think they want. The roads are too crowded with us lowly peons.

But it would be nice if ALL drivers had a valid license and insurance. That alone would remove about 20% of Chicago drivers.

I think so too. I retired from a company that makes smart electric meters. They all have a feature where the current draw is monitored and if it exceeds a set amount the meter will cut your power for a set time. You will have to let the power company manage the power in your home and it will be up to them to decide if your car gets charged or not.
