The cruise industry is probably finished. There will be endless panic pronouncements and cruises will be prisoner to endless changes in rules. This is yet another huge business killed by government interference.

There is a lot of capital tied up in cruise ships, a lot of jobs across the globe in shipyards, and a lot of jobs tied up in port services.

I don't think it can all go away just like that.

As long as a single positive test, sinks the entire voyage, the industry is gone.

Even if the jabs were 95% effective, there could be a ship coming back with 20 positives anyway.

Has cocaine smuggling business finished? There are serious laws on books to punish cocaine smugglers severely. You know why cocaine keeps coming in? Because there is DEMAND from Americans. You should try watching that TV series about smugglers being caught in airports.

I believe cruise business will come back strong because of same reason, DEMAND by Americans.
