The headline implies that the USSC has issued a stay, I don’t believe this is correct.
A petition was FILED at USSC but the ruling is from an 11th circuit panel, right?
When the workers are done with shipboard life, they go back home with skills to open their own hospitality businesses.

I always enjoy your posts. Please add me to the missing list;)
Great, but what a ping pong game.
Thanks but the link is to the application for a stay, not to what “Thomas capably articulated”.
Has cocaine smuggling business finished? There are serious laws on books to punish cocaine smugglers severely. You know why cocaine keeps coming in? Because there is DEMAND from Americans. You should try watching that TV series about smugglers being caught in airports.
I believe cruise business will come back strong because of same reason, DEMAND by Americans.
Thank you for that informative link.
I agree 100%.
No, the Circuit Courts are overseen by individual Justices. I believe the District Courts are overseen by individual CIRCUIT Court Justices as well, but I’m not certain about that.
Usually, the only time a Supreme Court Justice will exercise this oversight authority is when it’s an exigent situation and the larger Court isn’t available because they’re in recess, as they are for the summer.
In this particular case, the state of Florida sued the CDC in federal district court claiming it overstepped its authority when it issued its cruise ship vaccine mandate. Pursuant to that lawsuit, a District Court issued an preliminary injunction against the CDC enjoining the enforcement of the vaccine order and in doing so, ceded that the state of FL was likely to prevail on the merits of the case when it is eventually heard (probably months from now).
The CDC then appealed to the 11th Circuit, which - in another emergency action - stayed the District Court injunction and then Thomas, acting on behalf of the Supreme Court, stayed the Circuit Court injunction, leaving the original District Court injunction against the CDC in force.
It’s kind of confusing but honestly, it’s not all that uncommon during the summer months when so many of the courts are in recess.
Eventually, the case will be heard on the merits unless the CDC withdraws its order mooting the State of Florida’s lawsuit.
Sorry I won’t take anything artificial on a daily basis for many years to come, because covid is not going to disappear, not any more than influenza has disappeared.
I prefer one shot of Flu vaccine once a year and have already taken Moderna shots in March without any side effects. That was few minutes and done. No daily swallowing of man made stuff for ever.
I think if this went to the Supreme Court and DeSantis won, it would be the end the possibility of Vaccine Passports in the US. By having the Federal Court back down, various tyrants and un-elected officials can still screw with us.
Yep. There are a lot of hands in the game.
People want cruises. A lot of people enjoy the life of a yearly cruise.
The question is, will the tyrants win?
If they do, it won’t matter much what your investments are, because it won’t belong to you anyway.

Here is another link to the thread which is not cruise oriented.-Tom

“On the other hand the global warmist cabal has been trying to get rid of the entire industry for years, and this is their big opportunity. They don’t like the hoi polloi gallavanting around the globe. That’s for special people on private yaghts.”
You can see that here on another FR thread. -Tom

I retired back in January and was thinking about a cruise myself.
I hear there is a lot of backlog with people whose cruises were cancelled and those who were already on a waiting list.
Thank you. I see it hasn’t gone away.
They’re always at it.
Unvaxxed passengers have to get the 72 hour PCR test (Yes the one that will be outlawed on Dec 31st) Then Carnival will give them an antigen (rapid) test before they get onboard and another before they get back to the US port...
However the vaxxed are not tested at all coming or going except for the B2B passengers and the vaxxed are getting the Wu Hu Flu in droves...
When a vaxxed passenger gets the Wu Hu Flu onboard all they have to do is keep quiet and then sneak of the ship when it gets back and go home...meanwhile theyve super spreaded the virus around the ship, into subsequent ports, into the airport and the plane and the 2nd airport and their hometown...
At least one couple from the first Carnival cruise boasted they did just that...sick for the last 3 days of their cruise...the others we dont know about...
The ones to watch out for ar the dishonest vaxxed...
