Thank you for that link. If I understand it correctly, several COVID19 tests were granted EUA in Feb 2020 because there wasn't enough time or samples to build an industrial-strength test. Indeed, it seems some of the EUA tests were for I fluenza as well.

NOW, the EUA will lapse at the end of 2021 and firms must switch to a "better" test.

What that means, essentially, is that the designation that someone has COVID19 since Feb 2020 has been based on scores of tests of varying accuracy, and that this lack of consistency and accuracy continues today with the variants.

Am I close?
