Im middle-aged and I grew up wanting USA to win and succeed at everything internationally.
I am highly conflicted and its a real destruction of my world-view not to want success for people wearing the US flag, like the woman’s soccer team. But here we are nonetheless.

I am not interested in their politics as long as they get back to concentrating on soccer. That should be the ultimate lesson — and we lost to Sweden before so I’m still hopeful.
We all make choices in our life, some turn out well and some don’t. I wonder if any of these young ladies will look back with regrets for the choices they have made.
I have been lucky in life in that most (if not all) of my bad choices were not documented to become part of history. These images will follow them for years.
