From other posters it seems that the CDC says the high number was due to a data error. This seems plausible. While the CDC has been ridiculous in down playing the gigantic 40x increase in reports this year, this is not a reason. To think their IT people never make mistakes.

IMHO the CDC has pi$$ed away all their credibility and no benefit of doubt is deserved.
