“The Delta variant is a game-changer,” said Los Angeles County Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer said on Thursday.
Ferrer announced that, as the Delta variant has become more prevalent in Los Angeles County, the percentage of infections happening among fully-vaccinated residents is also rising. In March, vaccinated people accounted for only 2% of all infections. In April that rose to 5%. In May, it was 11%. Stood at 20% in June. The rise coincides with the rise of the more transmissible Delta variant in the county, which now accounts for 84% of all variants recently identified.
But, said Ferrer, there are still very important reasons for getting vaccinated. “If you’re vaccinated, the chance of you ending up in the hospital, winding up in the ICU, the chance of you winding up intubated are much less.”

L.A. County has had more than a year to build healthcare facilities and train caregivers to deal with any “surge” of the China Virus.
If it has not, then can only be concluded that the government there wants lockdowns to continue for its own (most likely nefarious) purposes.

I want to know if infected vaxxed people are contagious? Are they shedding a virus that has escaped the immunity offered by the vaccine?
That would make this a very leaky vaccine that allows the host to shed a mutated virus that is resistant to immunity….and if so….we are facing real big problems because it will kill the unvaccinated quickly

You know, instead of using such harsh prison terms such as, “Lock down”, perhaps the California officials should used the term, “Time out period”, like in grade school.
That way when millions in CA are forced to close their businesses, go broke, and keep the kiddies home, it will be much more soothing and not so abrasive.
So, According to the good doctor, vaccines may work, but if not get them anyway. Masks may work if you double and triple up. Maybe.
Social distancing may work too. Only if you have lockdowns.

Means absolutely nothing in that the vaccinated only get tested now if they are symptomatic and the unvaccinated get the Q-tip up their brain all the time.

97 percent of doctors in NYC chose the vaccine.
On the Colorado COVID site 6 variants are shown, identified by numbers, with a graph showing the incidence of each variant as a percentage of overall cases. Delta (B.1.617.2) is the leader in cases.
I haven’t found out how they get the numbers.
