Look like a slow economic start for Royal Caribbean in Alaska.-Tom
Sounds like they are operating at a loss.
Sounds like a dream vacation.
Does anybody know how they verify a person has been vaccinated. I know you get a card when you do but its not an official document. To my knowledge there is no database, at least that the cruise industry can see and its easy to forge the vaccine card.
I took the cruise about 2 and a half years ago but the Tracy Arm was fogged in. Went to Alaska, then Israel last year. They’re the only places I want to visit again.
Which makes Deep State very happy.
Ships practicing medicine. They are no longer pleasure cruise lines, they are extensions of politics.
“mask-wearing rule”
Will you be marooned if you don’t wear one?
Who wants to drop $2k on a trip only to have to wear a diaper on your face half the time.
Unvaxxed can’t do this, unvaxxed can’t do that.
No wonder its empty.
Maybe this will be a wakeup call for these cruise lines
If you are now on an Alaska cruise, please tell us all about the wondrous critters you might be seeing!
Making unvaccinated people into second class passengers is no way to run a ship line. None of your business if I’ve been jabbed or not. Take it yourself, you’ll be just fine.
What port was this ship in before its cruise?
Or a ghost ship
Where did you sail out of and did you have to be vaccinated? I am cruising out of settle and am holding off on a vaccine i do not want but am kind of comitted
Man, now’s the time to take a cruise!
“Despite the new mask-wearing rule on the ship and other COVID-19-related changes, the basic cruise experience feels relatively normal.”
Except for that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?
Big boat charter market is going gangbusters right now. I believe even the small and medium-sized yachts are chartering very well. I wonder how that will be impacted - positively or negatively - with the resumption of scheduled cruise lines.
FWIW, we have a group of college friends that get together for vacation every 2-years. The first year, we went on a cruise. It wasn’t great It’s a floating hotel with mediocre food, IMO. The next time, we chartered a modest yacht. That was great and we’ve been doing it for the last 14-years. Is it more? Perhaps a bit, particularly if you’re comparing the cost to a budget cruise line. But, it’s probably around the same price of 1st class on Viking or Seaborne.
In addition, travel parties with unvaccinated passengers are not allowed to leave the ship in ports unless they purchase a local tour through Royal Caribbean.
Passengers who aren’t vaccinated are required to take a PCR test for COVID-19 when checking in at the terminal and an antigen test for COVID-19 onboard the ship near the end of the voyage.

That sounds like fun. No wonder the ship isn’t full.
Never have been interested in a Cruise ship. Too many people in a small place and nowhere to escape to.
At least the new alcohol and sugar concoction they offer will help reduce your immune function.
What, exactly, is the logic behind this exemption of 2-year-olds?
In my experience, 2-year-olds (who are just as capable of spreading Covid as 82-year-olds) have a very poor concept of hygiene. They are constantly smearing their boogers on handrails, slobbering, scratching their privates, putting things into their mouths, etc.
Shouldn't the requirement to wear a mask and practice distancing be especially applied to 2-year-olds?
