This image on the USS Omaha was recorded by a FLIR Star SAFIRE III (infrared) system onboard, a Sea Giraffe AMB radar, and hand-held camera.

All were confirmed by the DOD as corroborating evidence of what was picked up by the Omaha.

That said, it could have been a swamp gas-filled weather balloon.;-)

If the anyone in the military is pushing this hooey then someone in the chain has reason to create fear, uncertainty, dread. Occam’s razor is screaming that from the rooftops.

I have a knack for spotting a FUDwich a mile away, and that particular video to which I linked earlier is it. I’ve seen the exact same kind of effects hundreds of times in various optical systems.

On a side note... as an astronomer, people like to ask me if I believe in UFO’s. I have been asked that question many times. My answer is always something like this...

Yes, I have seen UFO’s. I have seen things in the sky that I was not able to identify. Though nearly every time I had been able to subsequently identify the object with a little research. Vandenberg launched a rocket. Or a NASA satellite blew up a barium canister to observe interactions with Earth’s magnetic field lines, etc. But I have never seen evidence of a non-Earth sourced flying machine... ever. And I have spent hundreds of nights out under the stars til dawn literally looking at the sky.

At the same time... part of that question that people ask me also infers the question of whether or not I believe in LIFE elsewhere in the universe. Well, if you take a spoon full of soil from anywhere on Earth and look at it through a microscope, you will most likely find it to be teeming with life. I find no reason to expect that the rest of the universe isn’t the same way.
