“hit and run”? Here I am! Where did I run to? Back here? I REALLY don’t know what the hell you are talking about.
I don’t give a flying fig is someone disagrees with me. But after a few days it starts to become “bickering” or “quarreling”, neither of which I have ANY interest in. As for the “bullying”, it is about someone who goes beyond disagreeing with you and lets it go at that. I grew up with a leftist sister, it goes from disagreement to a dog with a bone. They JUST WON”T LET GO OF IT! AGREE WITH ME OR I WILL CONTINUE TO PESTER YOU UNTIL YOU DO. I’ve encountered a few on this site who exhibit this very behavior. There is another one doing it right now. I’ll try and ignore him/her, but I doubt that he/her will just go away.
I plan to continue visiting and contributing. As a former LEO I don’t always respond so well to attempts to bully me. I’ve been in enough fights, blood and else. I have to mellow my natural inclinations, both on this site and in the physical world. Fortunately, my age has helped with that. I have no intentions of doing anything to urinate on FR. I will not use profanity, threaten or harass anyone. If someone disagrees, okay, I might try to explain myself. But, if they take it a step further, get in my face(figuratively speaking), insults, false accusations... I will stand up for myself. Thank you for the Welcome. I do appreciate it!
With all the disrespect and baseless smears Law Enforcement has had to endure recently what is your opinion of what is going on?
It was already getting worse back when I was in it. I’ve been out for over thirty years now. So, my current opinion is from the outside colored by my experience on the inside. From what I can see... I would encourage any honest, decent LEO to get out as soon as possible. 1) It doesn’t pay enough. 2) It’s not just about the threat to their life, MORE it’s the threat to their future (lawsuits). 3) It doesn’t make ANY difference! Being in LE is like mowing an ever growing lawn. That’s the “downside”. On the “upside”, I still fondly remember the people I worked with, some of the best people I have EVER known
