If it’s canceled it won’t be due to CoupFlu.

It’ll be because nobody wants to watch.

But since that won’t be covered by insurance, they’ll blame CoupFlu, which might help them recover some of their losses.

I’m going to disagree. A very large percentage of Japan’s population is elderly and their vaccination rate is very low. They have been under much harsher lockdown restrictions than we have. They postponed it last year because of Wuhan and especially if lots of athletes test positive, I can see shutting them down.

The TV audience is world wide, not just NBC and the US. We may well be sick of the Olympics, and NBC’s stupid coverage of them, but you can be sure that TV sets in Mexico or Brazil will be tuned in when their teams/athletes compete.
