Supply chain problems continue to plague the restaurant industry, leading big chains Taco Bell and Starbucks to warn consumers on Monday that some items may not be available.
Starbucks told customers on its app that “due to supply shortages, some items are temporarily unavailable.”
That echoed warnings that have persisted at the chain’s locations for months. Consumers have complained on social media channels about periodic shortages of items such as green tea.
At Taco Bell, customers are complaining about a lack of hot sauce. The Mexican fast-food chain’s website warns customers that not all items are available at the moment.
The company, owned by the Louisville, Ky.-based Yum Brands, blamed transportation problems for the shortages.
“Due to national transportation delays happening throughout most of the industry, we may be temporarily out of some items,” the company said in a statement. “Apologies for the inconvenience and we hope to feed fans’ current Taco Bell cravings again soon.”
Restaurants have faced shortages of everything from sauces to pickles to chicken wings in recent months due to a host of issues—including weather problems in Texas and intense demand from consumers coupled with supply limitations.

Yep - the free market isn’t being allowed to function. This is communism by default, just encourage the workers to not work by paying them not to.
This will have a much larger effect on the economy moving forward then anything. Then tax receipts will plummet and the ability to keep paying. The only options being to print or borrow money, more inflation to come.
Equality of misery for all.
We not having a direct deposit government freebie check so you can sit on your butt instead of getting a job shortage.
Charred sawdust (Starbucks) and dog food in a tortilla (Taco Bell). PASS
My teenage kids work at Starbucks. They were told that most of the supply shortages were “due to the storms in Texas.” They now have a surplus of rude customer stories.
They won’t have a problem finding people if they pay enough. Of course, that will lead to price inflation.
...which is probably what they want (to monetize the debt).
Aren’t willing to adequately pay for and train workers and drivers for supplies.
When did TACO BELL start selling food and STARBUCKS selling coffee been there never found any.
Please file away in the "first world problems" folder.
Same here and cheaper.
Proud to say I’ve never ordered a $5 mocha latte with just a whisper of cinnamon or whatever the latest Starbucks’ craze is. Folgers out of a cheapo Walmart coffee maker hits the spot.
Frying or baking some tortillas with my own nacho toppings is cheaper and easier than wasting an hour to go Taco Bell. Their bean burrito is $1.19 vs. homemade for about 13 cents. Those dollars quickly add up.
There are all kinds of restaurant clone recipes on the internet so you aren’t paying into leftie ideas. And you don’t have to worry when the last time the restaurant employees washed their hands or if your order was coughed or spit on.
Same thing as a crunch wrap but wrapped in a different shape. http://texascookin.blogspot.com/2012/04/taco-bell-cheesy-gordita-crunch-clone.html
Hands down the best, costs waaaay less than the drive thru window price and it’s still warm when you sit down with it. http://texascookin.blogspot.com/2012/04/if-you-like-schlotzskys.html
Forbes shows restaurant mark ups as high at 600+ percent with pizza at the highest. I made pizza from scratch last night for pennies on the dollar and no tipping for delivery.

Fixed it.
Our Walmart still has limits and items out of stock.
The lawn mower broke and we’re waiting on back ordered parts for weeks.
Pay more than the government stipend... Now there’s a thought....
Hey don’t you get it? There is no free market for labor, the laws of supply and demand don’t apply to labor. That is what these fat-cat capitalistic/hypocrites tell me anyway.
The corporate cheap labor mafia is refusing to budget on wages. We all suffer. A pox on both houses.
If we pay McD workers $25.00/hr a 1/4’er hamburgers will cost $5000000000000000000000000000000000.00 each!!!! //sarcasm.
I wonder how much of that is just stream of consciousness Denis Leary. He probably just opened his mouth and it all came pouring out.
I’m sure it was.
