I received an email tonight from Amazon (I'm a Prime member) informing me that
"We wanted to let you know that we recently updated our Conditions of Use.
One of our updates involves how disputes are resolved between you and Amazon. Previously, our Conditions of Use set out an arbitration process for those disputes. Our updated Conditions of Use provides for dispute resolution by the courts.
Please visit https://www.amazon.com/conditionsofuse to read our updated terms in full.
As always, your use of any Amazon service constitutes your agreement to our Conditions of Use.
Thank you,
Amazon"
I looked up their terms and conditions to the part about disputes:
DISPUTES Any dispute or claim relating in any way to your use of any Amazon Service will be adjudicated in the state or Federal courts in King County, Washington, and you consent to exclusive jurisdiction and venue in these courts. We each waive any right to a jury trial.
I felt that this information had been transmitted in a very harsh and off-putting way, with no explanation as to the change in policy.
Me too; also not a speck of regret, and surprising little inconvenience.
Which lens? Is it a Fuji?
I don’t have a FB account deleted it, NO Twitter, FB, YouTube, or Amazon dumped everyone of them!! I am on Telegram LOVE Telegram, Rumble, and here!! I joined GETTR but haven’t used it yet!!
Oh yes... This was first coined by Microsoft and AT&T. “We have all legal rights and you as a customer have none, you cannot even sue us if you agree to and accept or use service”.
WHY THE HELL WOULD ANY DUMMY AGREE TO THIS???
Is your FB handle the same as it is on here?
Is yours??
No accounts.
Oh, interesting.
I thought you were asking Trump Girl her FB handle so you could friend her, there.
Just curious....why were you asking about her FB handle...especially if you don’t even have an account/no accounts?
I’d have to check
She came down so strongly against Amazon. I find the majority of people that do that don’t have a problem with contributing to FB or Twitter even though those 2 platforms contribute nothing and have damaged our country. But I’m pleased to see that TG isn’t hypocritical in that respect.
You'd prefer a singing telegram?
Exactly. Amazon provides an amazing service. I’ve been their customer forever. Never had a Fascistbook account. My cat has an account at Twitter, @Cats of Twitter, but she’s getting bored with it. Rarely prowls over there now.
Wait...you assumed that because someone comes down hard on Amazon that they contribute to Twitter and FakeBook? As YOU find that the majority do?
When did you complete this (obviously failed) study?
And, what a ‘bonus’ that you are pleased to see that this person wasn’t hypocritical, in that respect.
Pretty full of yourself, there, aren’t you? First making assumptions about someone’s FB activity and shaming for their Amazon slamming....then, saying that YOU’RE pleased at their actual position...none of which happen to be any of YOUR business, anyway.
🙃
Again....interesting.
A kitty twitter account.
Now, THAT....is funny 😹
Yeah,
Our local Super Walmart (not so super, runs out of stuff after running local stores out of business) has an empty slot for the Canon colored ink I need for my printer, that I bought at WM.
Been empty for about a year or more.
So I priced the cartridge on Amazon. Then found the same cartridge direct from Canon, same price, no shipping.
Went with Canon.
Same here. Fortunately it was time for me to renew in February so I ended it right there. No need for me to feed the "beast".
As far as his ownership of Washington compost, I believe he is in it for the loss. He probably contributes little toward that rag.
Don't know how the new head honcho is going to work out though. They've been pretty status quo and not 'forcing' crap (LGBTQrstuv, blm etc) so far. They recognize them but it's not front and center 24/7.
As long as they keep up the fantastic service and prices, I'll be their customer.
It is what it is. Just an observation.
“Living on Whidbey Island we shop Amazon a lot as well as Costco.com. We have been Amazon customers forever and never had an issue that wasn’t resolved to our satisfaction or better.”
Yep, great service. I figure there is probably a very small group of ‘troublemakers’, similar to women who are on HOA boards, that are a pain in the ass for Amazon. So now they can hire lawyers and file in King County. Given that, I suspect they’ll find other companies to harass.
Amazon is at the point where they think they are too big to have to worry about customer satisfaction. There have been other companies in the past who learned the hard way that all it takes is someone or some company with enough capitol to take your customer base away from you by providing the same kind of service you use to employ which made you what you are. I think WalMart could do it, or heaven forbid a Chinese company could do it and with the backing of the Chinese government they could cut off Amazon’s access to China’s cheap goods and that alone would be the end of Amazon and the rise of “Yangtze”.
In other words, “all disputes will be decided in courts that we own.”
