GET OUT!
(just kidding - that was cute)
I often made my kids home fried potato chips. The problem was it’s a slow process and the kids would eat them all up as fast as I could fry them. I always got the last batch but the rug rats would stare at me as I had my share.
That would have to be ‘FritA Lay’.....................
If you eat the competitive corn chip with anything like bean dip, chili, on a hamburger, etc I doubt many can tell the difference in the taste. So it is silly to pay the significant premium for the Frito brand name.
But the Frito brand corn chip, right out of the bag mixed with nothing else is notably better.
Say what you may about Frito Lay’s methods, you haven’t had a shortage of their product. There aren’t many other producers you make the same assertion about over the past year. Those employees are being paid overtime and had job security before the scamdemic and will have it going forward. So they are working overtime and are better supporting their families. Before I retired that was my attitude. I thought it was the America way. The next time I start carping about no inventory or ridiculous lead times, I’ll go buy a bag of Cheetos.
Nope. That would be Utz's.
I busted my tail for that company for 30 years. In the beginning it was a great company. The company creed was make the best product in the industry, efficiently put it into the hands of our customers at a fair price and show a decent return to the stockholders. About fifteen years ago that business model had devolved into, be green, be inclusive and if you sell some chips, that’s OK. If you check that timeline you’ll find that’s about the time the global market became more important to them than the American market. I think there’s a connection.
I’ve been boycotting all Pepsi & Frito-Lay products since I found out their Indian CEO hated America and people like us.
The New Spanish CEO doesn’t seem much better.
Mrs. Fisher’s (a local Northern Illinois brand) used to be my favorite chip, til the state of Illinois made them switch their grease to a “healthier” fat. Now they’re just ordinary. Disgusting totalitarians!
Frito’s are $3.79 a bag. Same bag of Aldi’s brand is .65. They are banditos.
covid vaccine suicide. LOL
I disagree: Cape Cod Potato Chips
Not true... A friend of mine was working 2 jobs...40 hours during the week, and 16 hours every weekend at Walmart...
In a year and a half she missed 4 days... got fired for poor attendance...
And a big help wanted sign is right out front...
I don’t think employers have accepted that it’s now an employee’s market..
They’re always frito lay down those signs and go find another job if they don’t like it.
