A 77-year-old man was pushing a bicycle on Interstate 14 in Killeen Friday morning when he was hit and killed by several vehicles, according to police.
Some cars that hit him didn’t even stop, police said.
“Several vehicles that struck the male did not stop and the Traffic Unit would like to speak with the operators of those vehicles, or any other witnesses, about the accident,” the Killeen Police Department said in a news release.
Police have not named the man, pending notification of next of kin.
He was pushing the purple, BMX-style bicycle shortly before 7 a.m. when he was struck by multiple vehicles in the center, westbound lane of I-14 near Rosewood Drive, police said.

FYI, Killeen is probably > 95% non-texans who moved there for the Airbase or jobs....
One of the two ‘S’s - Suicide or Senile.
There’s a pretty good chance that whoever hit him was associated with the military = 140,000 in Killeen (including children) about 40,000 soldiers on base (not counting civilian employees).
Trivia footnote- 31 dead at Fort Hood in 2020 - 5 acknowledged homicides, 11 alleged suicides. Unclear how the rest were classified. Life is cheap to the folks at Fort Hood.
Dumbass shouldn’t have been on the interstate with a bicycle. Sad but It’s 100% his fault. It is completely unreasonable for drivers on the interstate to be expected to watch out for bicyclists.
Except it was Jolene not Killeen. Doesn’t matter since she decided to suck up to the BLM crowd.
Just call them up and tell them a Biden admin official wants to talk to them. They’ll come running, thinking it’s friendly territory.
I’ve bicycled on Interstate Highways in the western U.S. states, where, as you indicate, it is legal to do so along certain clearly posted sections. However, bicycles are restricted to the interstate shoulder, which is quite wide, and is relatively safe. Any bicyclist riding in a travel lane of an Interstate Highway has a death wish.
Correct. It is legal to bike on the interstate in Texas, as other states. The shoulder would be the only sane place to do it. Same for walking; egress on the shoulder of a road, should be legal in all areas, one would think.
He WAS???
(snicker)
That is the only reason I knew about Killeen.
The Petersens do a good cover of that.
Don’t forget the Luby’s massacre - It’s the reason Texans can now carry in restaurants and other public places.
You wouldn't be a dreaded JOKE EXPLAINER, would you?
