Where he got it is the only real mystery but its likely this was leaked NSA or DOJ captures since they are required to monitor this as part of the national security responsibilities. They can’t publicly confirm this but Congress has the means to find out the truth in classified committees if the Democrats are ever forced to investigate this data.
The man has no reason to fabricate such figures out of thin air. Moreover, he is putting both his business and his reputation on the line. Therefore I tend to believe he is speaking the truth.
