I’ve lost 205 lbs following Dr. Fung’s methods.

It works, but you pretty much have to make up your mind that this is a permanent lifestyle choice. Yo-yo fasting probably isn’t as bad as yo-yo dieting, but I’ve seen too many people lose weight, reverse their T2 and then blow it all by going back to the SAD life. (Standard American Diet)

A SAD diet indeed.

And that’s an amazing amount of weight loss. Must have been very rewarding to have a lighter step as the days progressed.

I was never really heavy — but enjoyed the pizza and IPAs. And then the blood test where I neglected to fast for a long enough period — a blessing in disguise.

Appreciate the recipe tips!

Discovering the simple technique of intermittent fasting in Dr. Fung’s books was an eye-opener for me. Not eating, especially when I’m not hungry, makes a difference.

There are times when everyone makes the decision to celebrate a life event by breaking the keto/low carb lifestyle (wedding cake, etc.), but those should be occasional and not the daily norm.

Besides, most people who have T2D aren’t told that they can get off their medication if they just continue to take their medication long enough. Many if not most doctors never think that way and expect their patients to have increasing peripheral health issues because of the advancing diabetes.

I’ll risk any possible side-effects from intermittent fasting and maintaining a keto/low carb lifestyle, as opposed to simply taking medicine that will never really address or cure the issue.
