JAPANESE ZUCCHINI
Great side dish for Asian meal or grilled seafood, chix,
or steak. Amp flavor with hot sauce and chili garlic sauce.

INGREDIENTS
3 medium zucchini,
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 medium sweet onion, coarse chopped
2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tsps toasted sesame seeds.

Heat veg oil ......and pat of butter for richness. Add zucchini batons and chp onion;cook 2 minutes.
teriyaki, soy sauce, red pepper flakes and black pepper. Cook 4 to 5 minutes til soft enough for your liking. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve.

Thanks, Liz! Nice to know there’s an actual ‘recipe’ for something I make quite a lot during Zucchini Season. I highly recommend this; it’s yummy! :)

We had a Japanese restaurant in Madison that was to die for. They made this as a side dish, but of course right in front of you and with great theatrics. ;)

(Kind of a knock off ‘Benny Hana’ restaurant.)

They made an awesome drink called ‘The Universe’ with I don’t know WHAT in it, other than I learned to love Midori Melon Liqueur.
