It is heavy work. Have you seen the long Langstroths?

Some of our keepers use one deep and then stack mediums. That way you’re not having to lift anything other than the mediums.

There is a wild nest of honeybees at the end of our property. My flowers are lush this year, no doubt due to the pollinating bees.

The long Langstroths that open from the side? Yes Ma’am! I do like the look of those. Right now all of our supers are mediums, and we use two brood chambers. The problem is when there are 4 or 5 supers, waaaay up there, so heavy when full. Just took off the early honey, hopefully all basswood and clover - yum.

Wish more people knew to buy only local honey and the beneficial aspects of its antimicrobial qualities as compared to chain store adulterated honey. There is a big push here to register all hives, ‘for the inspection and control of honeybee diseases’. It’s all about controlling a food source. Grrrrr.
