29 hives! That’s alot of work. We’ve had to feed bees during an early dearth this year. Can’t imagine doing it for that many. Hat off to you.

I'm not saying I did a great job :-) My husband asked that I quit. He was right - it's awfully hot work for someone of my age. He saw my beet red face a few times (he works outside anyway and doesn't do stinging insects lol.) We have had so much rain here - I think we're 10 inches over normal rainfall.

Blue state blues, trying to ramp up the fear (IMO) of the covid delta variant. This from Spokane County, WA (very blue state) health official:

According to Spokane Interim Health Officer Dr. Francisco Velazquez, the variant is two to three times more transmittable than the original strain and can cause a viral load 1000 times higher in those infected.

"The main concern is with a Delta variant, if you look at the literature, it will tell you it is over 200% more effective than the original strain," Velazquez said.

The increased viral load can also cause more severe illness along with the increased rate of transmission.

Ah, it’s heavy work too, lifting those full supers. Difficult to do that alone! We are still at a slight rain deficit, although the past couple of weeks have put the moisture back in the ground and wells are in better shape. We are grateful for that.
