I need to go into Barnes and Noble and see if their Nook is a tablet or just a reading device.

Regular Kindles aren't tablets -- they just do book reading. Amazon tablets, like other tablets, run the Kindle app.

Same with Nook. Most Nooks are for books, only. However, there's 10" Nook tablet now.

I have the Nook tablet, not the reader. It does everything the computer does. It’s the Samsung Galaxy. If all you want to do is download books, get the reader. Much cheaper.
