Our cases are at about 25% where they were in January. That’s many more than we had just a month ago. Almost all unvaccinated. I haven’t had any that were vaccinated yet.
This will end but it’s going to have to burn through a little more fuel first I’m afraid.
Arkansas (along with Missouri, Louisiana and a few others) is right on the front line of this wave - likely to be a bellwether for how it will play out Nationally.
There is still time for at risk people to get vaccine protection - significant immunity improvement starts a week after the first shot. But the Delta wave is here, and we will likely see cases rise rapidly for a month or two.
The estimate is half the volume of the Winter wave, in a more compressed timeframe, with lower severity and mortality rates. That will vary locally, based on existing immunity levels.
