No more "unmanned" but yet when there is a crime reported in some news outlets we see "police are looking for a man..." Race is often removed but gender is included. What next? "Police are looking for a suspect described as..."

They’ve always referred to passengers this way, as guests, but the problem is that in German you must, gramatically, include the plural masculine and feminine both when greeting passengers as a group.
They’ll say “Liebe Gästinnen, Liebe Gäste,...” (Dear (female) Guests and Dear (male) Guests,...etc.” So I don’t know how the shift to “guests” really helps them in their own tongue.
