It always good to know when you meet someone whose Bullshit meter doesn't work at all. I grew up with and raised cattle. They do not take that much water. The calculations you are quoting are based on nonsensical statistics based on fantasies about what by people who have never touched a cow in their life believe cattle eat and drink.
By the way our cows were/are grass fed eating grass from non-irrigated pastures. And the amount of water the whole herd drinks is less than what a small family uses for taking baths and showers.
But good job finding and repeating leftist propaganda with Google. I am sure that you have given everyone here a chuckle.
You have a nice day. I could care less about your meter.
“It takes approximately 1,847 gallons of water to produce 1 pound of beef.”
I’m guessing that they take into account the water it takes to grow the plants for feed (stockyard cows), but it wouldn’t surprise me if they include rainfall as well.
The water used in processing the meat (cleaning, freezing, etc.)
Heck - they might even figure that it takes 20 people to raise the cow and get it to market (truckers, etc.) and include their 8 glasses of water and 1 gallon per flush of the toilet.
I’ve also seen crazy numbers of how much water it takes to grow corn (ethanol) compared to other food crops that are now not being grown.
