I remeber hearing that back in the 1970s, about 50 million people watched the All Star Game. It was one of the highlights of the baseball season. Now, far fewer watch it.
I know there are far more TV channels and entertainment options nowadays. Just an observation, I suspect even many baseball fans don’t care about the All Star Game anymore.
Not since they started Inter-League Play.
I'm 71 and when I grew up EVERYONE (more or less) played baseball. I like baseball, but I won't watch now. If MLB apologizes for allowing the players to disrespect the flag and veterans, and then creates a policy that players who do not respect the flag and veterans will be dismissed, then I'll watch again.
Yep. Back then all you could get is a hog dog and cracker jack at the ballgame. Now they offer far more things at the stadium but it costs you way more. So they're adding more things to try to get fans to come back.
