I have had to deal with this in my own family. My niece was scared to death of getting sick. Ironically, actually getting the virus actually cured her paranoia.
She had to get an antibodies test and discovered that she had already had it and never knew it.
She felt very foolish for a bit but now she has gotten braver which will be an advantage in her future.
