As soon as I saw the three missed kicks, I thought “oh, crap” this will not end well.

So they’re getting worked up about maybe 10 people in a nation of millions being idiots online.

And I didn't notice at all. None of the racists at my club noticed either.

Jun 06, 2021 - England will continue to take a knee before their games throughout Euro 2020 and are “more determined than ever” to ignore any boos from the stands, according to manager Gareth Southgate.

Same thing happened in France when Mbappé missed his PK against Switzerland.

That first miss by Radford was just horrible. The goalkeeper did not even make contact with the ball. He literally missed the side of the barn. I do feel bad for the last kid that missed, 19 years old and first time playing on the Lions. Bad choice by manager.

I laughed at Radford’s miss, but the other two I credit the Italian goalkeeper for making.

It’s funny, sometimes a shooter literally shoots the ball straight, but the goalie dives in another direction, and the pundits will say the penalty was “Well Taken”, when if the goalie just stood still he would have easily saved it.

For some reason the GB coach felt that inserting younger legs into the lineup for the round of PKs. The fact that they were all blacks didn’t register with me but the TV announcers noticed that they were all relatively inexperienced.

IMHO the screaming online should be directed at the GB coach.

This is what REALLY upsets the UK police. They don’t get their knickers in a wad over muzzies who rape normal girls. They do get very bent out of shape over a few words written by soccer fans in the heat of a lost game.

One of Italy’s players did exactly that. Right down the middle.

GB doesn’t have a team, England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland all have their own teams.

The more that free speech is restricted, the more violence will occur.

“France: France’s principal piece of hate speech legislation is the Press Law of 1881, in which Section 24 criminalizes incitement to racial discrimination, hatred, or violence on the basis of one’s origin or membership (or non-membership) in an ethic, national, racial, or religious group. A criminal code provision likewise makes it an offense to engage in similar conduct via private communication.”

United Kingdom: Sec. 18(1) of the Public Order Act of 1986 (POA) states that “a person who uses threatening, abusive, or insulting words or behaviour, or displays any written material which is threatening, abusive, or insulting, is guilty of an offence if: a) he intends to thereby stir up racial hatred, or; b) having regard to all the circumstances racial hatred is likely to be stirred up thereby.” Among the panoply of other British hate speech laws is Section 5 of the POA, which makes it a crime to use or display threatening, abusive, or insulting words “within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm, or distress thereby.”

I has to look up the rule to understand how this works. If the coach sent inexperienced players in to make the last 3 kicks, that sounds like a coaching problem. In baseball, you don’t enter singles hitters into a home run derby, so why put the rookies into a pressure situation? This coach sounds like the kind of guy the Chicago Bears would hire to be their next head coach.

... and yet the English team made it to the final game !

Somebody has to come in second.

It is the nature of the game.
