The author encapsulates so much truth about the left in this one sentence. First, this phobic business; any distain based on morality or principle is twisted as some type of fear. Patriots certainly do not fear limp wristed pansies. Most just don't want it shoved in their faces 24/7.
Then there is there is the intelligence/education lie. The left is simply projecting. It is a defense mechanism that they use because they are so afraid to be found wanting intellectually. I know its exact origin. It comes from teachers, most of which are functionally illiterate. That is no lie. Go to city schools and you will find two defining characteristics of teachers. They are leftists and they are illiterate. They know their intellectual deficiencies. They went to college and were surrounded by people of superior intellect studying rigorous course work. They are scared to the bone by this.
Lastly, there is the 'lowest kind' slander. This is a typical leftist tactic used when they have no valid argument. This occurs because the vast majority of the left are truly ignoramuses that are deeply afraid.
It has been this way for at least 20 years, possibly 30. 30 years ago, I a liberal friend routinely called me “jingoistic” for my patriotism. He saw patriotism as extremism 30 plus years ago.
I can proudly say I have no liberal “friends” today, and have not for many years. They can hate America all to themselves.
