A cat that lived on the ninth floor of the collapsed Florida condo was miraculously found alive — and returned to his family — two weeks after the building came crashing down, according to reports Friday.
The skinny black feline, Binx, was spotted wandering near the rubble of Champlain Towers South in Surfside Thursday night and taken to the rescue group Kitty Campus, according to local outlet WSVN.
“Pets are family, and this is a miracle,” Maria Gaspari, a friend of the feline’s family told the station, adding she was overcome with joy.

hearing the song,,,The cat came back,!
I thought of that too. I only ever remember that from early grade school music.
I remember that song from grade school, as well. The Halloween song, too!
This is good news. That family had gone to get a temporary order for the cat to be rescued. The judge denied the order. They could see that cat on the balcony shortly before those condos went down.
I guess what they say is true: cats have nine lives.

Remember the hospital in Mexico City that collapsed after an earthquake? Thirty days later they found an infant in the rubble still alive.
I’m thinking that must have been a different family. Here, the Mom and youngest daughter were pulled from the rubble with serious injuries and are still in the hospital. The dad is missing. Luckily the oldest daughter was not at home at the time.
Not sure about that, but they would seem to have their hands full without going to court in that time frame.
I was wondering if this was the same cat. Because I thought a single women tried to get that injunction?
How could it survive that long?
“cats have nine lives.”
Truly they do, but sadly they can use them up. Luckily Binx wasn’t at that point!
“Thirty days later they found an infant in the rubble still alive.”
30 days?!?!?!? When I first read this I thought it said 3 days, which would be amazing but understandable (I think). How is survival for 30 days possible? Is it like, officially a miracle, or is there some explanation? And no I don’t remember even the event.
You both are probably right. Now that I think about it there are probably more pets that are unaccounted for and probably lost.
If I were a first responder, I would’ve volunteered to go on a search and rescue for missing pets. But I would probably be denied.
Landed on her feet!
IIRC, the cat/court order was for the tower that didn’t fall but was demolished a few days ago.
I heard 30 days on the radio news back when it happened(1985). It looks like it was actually maybe a week.
Now why would the news media fabricate such a thing.

“At least six infants, five girls and a boy, have been pulled from the debris of two hospitals. All were trapped for four to seven days, yet suffered only minor injuries.”
Thanks, do not remember this at all. Glad the babies were saved!
I hate to be a dick and ask this but..... What was that cat eating under all that rubble?
that’s quite a cat tail alright.
