A University of Chicago student blasted Mayor Lori Lightfoot on Thursday for her “blatant lie” that crime was plummeting — just days after a fellow student was killed by a stray bullet on the train.
Audrey Unverferth, a rising senior, said she’s lost confidence in Lightfoot following the violence that besieged Chicago over the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
“Lori Lightfoot had the nerve recently to say that crime in Chicago is on the decline — that’s a blatant lie,” Unverferth told “Fox & Friends.”
“Crime is not on the decline. Homicide and shooting rates are up and as we’ve seen, Chicago had its most murderous weekend of the year over the Fourth of July. Over 90 people were shot.”
In an op-ed for The Federalist, Unverferth said Lightfoot “should be ashamed” over the fatal shooting of her classmate, Max Solomon Lewis.
“His young life was senselessly cut short when his train ride home was interrupted by yet another Chicago shooting,” she wrote.
Lewis, a rising junior, had been commuting home from his internship last Thursday when a bullet pierced a window of the train at the 51st Street Green Line station and struck him in the neck, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died from his injuries on Sunday, the outlet reported.

Well, for Audrey Unverferth, as co-founder, publisher, and editor-in-chief of the Chicago Thinker (a conservative alternative to what, even back in my student days, was called the Chicago Moron), wising up to Shitcago corruption is better late than never.
Back in the ‘80s I was on my way to a jobsite in a nearby suburb of Chicago, Cicero. It was at night. I stopped at a Red light at an intersection in the Windy City’s North side.
Suddenly a blue & white Chicago patrol car pulled up along side me in the oncoming traffic lane facing in the wrong direction. The passenger window rolled down and the officer in the passenger seat started yelling at me, “What the Hell are you doing”! I told him “I’m waiting for a red light.”
He started to berate me for stopping in this neighborhood. Long story short, the two officers made me follow them as they provided a flashing light escort through town all the way to Cicero.
I never got to thank them for saving my naive ass that evening. Welcome to Chicago, white guy . . .

That’s what liberals do when they’re shown to be incompetent. They lie about everything.
People like Lightfoot should never be put in charge of anything.
Chicago enjoys being like Haiti and elected Lori Trollhair to make that happen.
