I turn off or customize a lot of what Windows sets as default, and I hope that my favorite party apps work under Windows 11 if I update to that (W/10 is supported until 2025). For thank God there is a wealth of easy customization and free software to do such.

I may have to try that, although Classic Shell continues to work for me. As long as I almost never have to use the execrable Metro UI I’ve been fairly happy with the stability of Win10.

I do the same, and one of the first tweaks is to disable unessential services or modify services from automatic start to manual start. (To access services, click “Windows logo + R” and then type “services.msc.”) I also disable anything to do with Cortana and completely delete OneDrive from the system.
