In the 1980’s Aurelia Puchinski ran for a statewide office. The Crystal Lake Herald (now the Northwest Herald) Dan a headline - “Democrat visits McHenry County”. We all laughed because at the to the there were no democrats living in McHenry County. Times have changed, not for the better.
