Well it looks like I spoke WAY too soon about just a little rain.

SweetiePalm's blood sugar started going low about 1415. When this happens she checks out mentally. I thought I could get it back up. 2.5 hours later She started thrashing about and sliding out of her chair.

At this point my only option was to call EMS. They know us and we know them. When they couldn't start an IV, their only option was to transport her to the local hospital. Of course, by this time, the rain had really picked up.

About 1730 all hell broke loose on everybody's cell phones. A tornado touched down on Naval Submarine Base, Kings Bay GA. Where did it hit? Why the RV park, of course. We had 5 ambulances show up in short order and we got pushed to the side. (No problem with that. Those people needed help more than us.) It wouldn't have been so bad if the AC in Sweetie's room hadn't had the temperature down to about 43 degrees Kelvin. Finally got out about 2200. Home, safe, and tired.

OMG! I'm so sorry for your and SweetiePalm's troubles today. So glad to hear both of you are home safe and sound now. (And VERY glad to hear Elsa wasn't much of a nuisance overall in your area.)

Frightening to hear about the tornado at the Kings Bay Sub Base though. We've had some wild weather up here in CT lately... even some tornado sightings between here and SW Massachusetts. Ugh!

My dad becomes the same way if his blood sugar gets low. He’s just weird. He said he’s aware that things are happening but he doesn’t care. He said the building could be on fire and he wouldn’t care.

Saint Marys Tornado Update

Evidently, the same tornado touched down on the eastern edge of downtown Saint Marys before continuing north and taking out the Eagle Hammock RV Park just inside the southern edge of NSB, Kings Bay.

Both places are in shambles. The good news seems to be that the most serious injuries were broken bones and cuts. It also seems to have spared the business and historical districts but only by a few blocks.

Our personal damage amounted to several tomato and pepper plants which might recover.
