Bill Cosby Blames “Mainstream Media” For January Attack On U.S. Capitol
Deadline ^ | July 4, 2021 | Dominic Patten

If anyone thought a now-free Bill Cosby was going to lay low for a bit after having his rape conviction and sentence suddenly overturned last week, think again. The much-accused actor once known as “America’s Dad” chose America’s Independence Day to prove them wrong.

In a somewhat confusing, scattered statement today, Cosby decried the bloody attempted coup at the Capitol in January as the fault of the mainstream media.

“The mainstream media are the Insurrectionists, who stormed the Capitol. Those same Media Insurrectionists are trying to demolish the Constitution of these United State of America on this Independence Day,” the statement put out by Cosby’s longtime spokesman Andrew Wyatt added. “No technicality — it’s a violation of ones rights & we the people stand in support of Ms. Phylicia Rashad.”

“....bloody attempted coup....”?

WTF is this BULLSHIT??

Seems to me that the 4 plus years of an ongoing Coup D’Etat was quite successful!!

Zho Xiden IS residing in OUR White House, after all.

Is Cosby's crimes worse than those committed by those who ran a fake Russian collusion narrative and two fake impeachments against a duly-elected President?

The dozens of women who were sexually assaulted and possibly raped by Bill and Hillary Clinton?

I'm not saying Cosby is a Saint, but people need to start putting some perspective here.

He has done a lot of wrong or at least was accused and busted for it. But he is correct. The main stream media and social media is the biggest piece of the steal. They covered this up for them by not showing the evidence that has piled up and continues to. They will down play the Arizona audit. If they were fair and balanced this would never happened.

Were some of those arrested after January 6th housed in the same lockup with Cosby? Probably not but who knows?

The courts didn’t free Cosby because they found him not to be a rapist. They freed him because they found that the prosecutors lied to him in order to force him to testify against himself. In fact a civil trial found Cosby guilty of rape. That still stands.

Not to defend the guy’s actions, but don’t forget that he was released from prison because his one conviction was overturned. Doesn’t prove he is innocent (although don’t need to do that in this country) but it does indicate that he was not convicted. My understanding (limited) was that his trial was poisoned by misconduct by the prosecution. The same sort of prosecution that can be expected on any trial of the folks who entered the capitol. So, his coming “out” in their defense is consistent with him.

I have no doubt Cosby did some of the things he did. The problem I have with this is that an accuser should not have a right to come forward years later — often times after the defendant outlived their usefulness to the victim — to make charges. Especially in the case of rape which is hard to prove years later.

If one feels violated, they should come forward immediately. Otherwise, you’ve lost your chance to pursue.

If Cosby had been an extremist liberal black man, there’s no way they would have gone after him like they did. He would have walked for the crimes he committed.

The laws don’t apply to liberal black men.

Why should he lay low? He is an innocent man. The court said so.

The court said no such thing. They overturned the conviction on the basis that he was denied a fair trial in 2018, due to a nonprosecution agreement that was made by a former district attorney in 2005. That is not a ruling on his innocence.

I believe he is guilty as hell. However, he was a victim of a mistrial or a corrupt agenda driven judicial system.

Seems like they presented evidence that has been long settled.

I would say that despite Cosby’s many moral failures, he has a lot of wisdom which is very rare.

Howard University you must support ones Freedom of Speech (Ms. Rashad), which is taught or suppose to be taught everyday at that renowned law school, which resides on your campus,”

Howard is a bottom tier law school.

This is the same law school whose entire student body erupted in cheers when the OJ verdict was read.

Cosby got everything else right, though.

Civil trials don't find people guilty of anything. They find them liable or not liable based on a preponderance of evidence (>50%) standard. A person is convicted of a crime based on a beyond a reasonable doubt standard of evidence (nobody knows, but probably something > 95%). It's a much more difficult standard to achieve.
