Once in a while you write something that makes a little sense.
You could build credibility by adding the South knew they didn’t have the political and military power to have their way - and the North did - so they negotiated the best deal they could. Yes, they accepted the North’s corrupt offer.
So, do you think it was a bad deal and should have been rejected?
How many more years do you think Union troops should have stayed in former Confederate States to enforce the 13th, 14th & 15th Amendments?
Are you sorry they left too soon?
