You can find this fun quotation puzzle, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications. I challenge us with the best ones out there.

The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).

Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated, you’ll be solving them all within a few days.  If you’re stumped, take a break and return to it.

PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and how you made out.

You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram ASK THE GROUP FOR HELP!

I suggest printing these out and work them on paper. If you need a little help you can copy and paste it to Hal’s Helper below.

You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper, but I recommend that you do NOT look at the letter counter.

One last request. Feel free to post a fun or clever clue, the more tangential to the quotation the better, but please don’t put the actual words of the quote in the clue.

Previous puzzle Wednesday 6/30/2021.
This puzzle is the same quote used on 6/16/2021. This is due to the people at Cryptoquote and not the fault of Nikos or the fine folks at the Arkansas Gazette.

Solution to previous puzzle (select the yellow text with your cursor to read):

NEVER BEAR MORE THAN ONE TROUBLE AT AT TIME. SOME PEOPLE BEAR THREE KINDS_ ALL THEY HAVE HAD, ALL THEY HAVE NOW, AND ALL THEY EXPECT TO HAVE.

5 minutes

Good job. Welcome to our forum.

We do ask that puzzle solvers refrain from posting the solution.

Of course, Douglas was just paraphrasing.

The freedom of Mankind does not lie in the fact that can do what we want, but that we do not have to do that which we do not want.

Get the most common letter, then the first word.
From there, off to the races.
About 90 sec because of all the clicking.

Pretty easy. I recognized the first word and the 11th word, and the rest was easy.

PS: It’s good form to post humorous quips or pictures that hint at the solution, but try to avoid being too obvious. If the solution contains the words “polly wants a cracker” don’t post a picture of a parrot eating a cracker, but you might post a picture of a box of saltines. Be a little subtle.
