The noise about this Delta confuses me. It has, over the last month increased positive test results in the UK by quite a bit. Yet over the same period Covid fatalities have hovered at or below 25 per day, in a nation of 63 million. So is Delta both more conta g ious and more deadly. The numbers say both cannot be true.

It’s more contagious. The good thing is that the vaccination rate among the elderly is much higher than the vaccination rate overall, so there will be fewer deaths since those most likely to die are 95% safe from it. The unvaccinated continue to be really helpful in keeping Covid circulating through the society though, so that’s good.
