Only "authorized" information allowed by the government.
People cannot have different opinions.
First target: Christian churches who preach what it in the Bible because it differs from government orthodoxy on the virtues of sexual deviancy.
At some point, Chinese immigrants in Canada will start to move back to China for more freedom.
Name a single time in history when the group fighting to censor speech were the good guys?
Funny how many Canadians are just going along with this. I talked to some folks in BC who think this is “for the better of society.” Riiiight.
There is a terrifyingly clear path to tyranny right now. I don’t see anyone or anything stopping it short of extreme measures. It was a good 250 year run for Republicanism, but we’re on the downswing.
Just another form of totalitarianism.
Communism, Fascism, are just forms of Leftist totalitarianism.
Nova Scotia not all of Canada.
? Thought there would be action by now.
I was thinking that when the border opened I might visit Montreal or Quebec City, haven’t been in 40 years, but I guess I’m really not that interested. A lot has changed in Canada in the past 40 years.
I know there are a lot of good Canadians but it looks like a lot of them are a bunch of pussies. I guess the same could be said about U.S.
Looks like we're going to have to do this, again.
Will the Canadian authorities go into mosques to prevent “groups from gathering” and “spreading misinformation”?
Or will muslims get a pass?
This is what happens when you donโt have constitutionally guaranteed rights. This is why the Left wants to eliminate the constitution.
No one gathers anymore. They tweet.
It NEVER was about health!!
Itโs always been about squelching any opposition to their true agenda.
O, Canada.....has gone full blown tyranny....not even disguising it, anymore.
The ban on gatherings that was attributed to covid was actually to prevent the spread of information as the left blamed the deaths on Trump and stole the election.
Most folks are familiar with the Preamble to the Constitution: We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
Sadly, most Americans are not nearly as familiar with the fact that the "Bill of Rights" also had a Preamble: The Conventions of a number of the States having, at the time of adopting the Constitution, expressed a desire, in order to prevent misconstruction or abuse of its powers, that further declaratory and restrictive clauses should be added, and as extending the ground of public confidence in the Government will best insure the beneficent ends of its institution.
The so-called 'Bill of Rights' is actually misnamed. It should be called the 'Bill of Restrictions on Government Power'. Rather than being seen as a short list of rights, which were further clarified in the 9th and 10th Amendments so that there is no doubt that these are not the only ones retained by the people, and the states, it is actually a short list of things that regardless of what the government wants to do, and may well plead the necessity to be able to do, they are completely disallowed from doing so by the founding document itself.
The American Revolution was organized and communicated thru church gatherings, tavern customers, militia musters, market days and other such gatherings. Think about it. Is is any wonder that the Covid lockdown targeted gatherings of the people but allowed on “special” exceptions?
