Owning and operating that much land makes you a wealthy and powerful family in Oklahoma, but Ree Drummond on her own has become a 1 woman conglomerate, not only does she have her show on Food Network, but she has her name on a bunch of items being sold at Walmarts everywhere, utensil, pots, pans, linens, clothes, food items, etc....

Not only that she has a magazine that is published, plus they own a number of businesses in the town of Pawhuska.

I like her show, “The Pioneer Woman”.

Her husband and children are almost always working hard. The children always have good manners.

The amount of land they have is incredible but its cattle country so depending on the size of the herd I suppose its necessary.

Living and working the American dream!

Welfare ranchers are what the locals call them. They receive 2 million dollars a year just for boarding wild horses.
Tax payers pay to have horses removed from land further west, so ranchers can lease cheap land. They don’t want their cattle to compete with horses for limited grass.
We then pay other ranchers to board the wild horses.

The Drummond ranch is outside of Pawhuska in Osage County,Oklahoma, which also covers the Osage Indian Tribal Reservation.

“the Osage” was one of the original big oil strikes in Indian Territory.

The Osage tribe pooled their oil royalties and divvied them up in the form of “head rights” which were awarded to each member of the original tribe.

the head rights were divisible & transferable, and greed and corruption prayed on the tribe & their head rights.

this led to the founding of the modern day “FBI”

for a fascinating read on the history of the Osage, you might try “Killers of the Flower Moon” by David Grann

A very detailed novel describing the early days of the Osage.

I’ve heard the book is soon to be made into a movie on Apple plus TV.

They get millions from the government for taking care of wild horses. What’s to take care of? More for land conservation, etc. They grab every government check they can get. Wonder how many illegals they have employed.

If a Hollywood gossip site says or “thinks” it’s a problem, it’s not.

I have followed Ree Drummond over the years, when we still subscribed to cable TV. She has been and still is, a go getter, achiever of the highest order, and would have done quite well with whatever she set her mind to. Her children were home schooled and routinely helped her in the kitchen and her husband with the outdoor ranching. They are a faith based family as well, and both sides of the family are hard working achievers. How would Oklahoma have benefited from the Drummonds not having what they have acquired, or doing what they still do? Like working hard, paying enormous taxes, local, state and federal. I am native Okla and I admire the Drummonds and their use of the land as well as their earned wealth. They have not limited the opportunities of others to likewise work hard and achieve whatever they are capable of.

Ree Drummond’s Husband Ladd and Nephew Caleb crash

Ladd, 52, and Caleb, 21, were each driving a Himmat Fire Truck on County Road N3660. Caleb was driving southbound, while Ladd was driving northbound. The trucks hit one another “head-on” due to “high winds on a gravel road” that caused visibility to be decreased, according to the report.

Neither Ladd or Caleb were wearing a seatbelt, the report said, and Caleb “was ejected approximately 70 feet from point of rest.”

We watch her cooking show on Saturday mornings sometimes. I particularly like her Southwest cooking style, tacos, etc.

I used to watch her show, bought some jars by her brand, the lids rusted quickly, inside wher ethe food touches. I started noticing all the china made products and read she gets govt money and I started realizing the show is filmed - of course they will only show the good shots or certain goofiness, but they are not simple farmers, or as she said accidental - it was all choices and enricing themselves some on tax payer dollars - I decided I don’t need to enrich her further.

I am amazed at the grasping need for MORE some people have. These people seem to have that drive to have more. It is not a trait to be admired, anymore than the trait to sit on yer bum and expect gifts to get you through. These two types of people are not to be admired. It is like Gates, Soros or Gotrocks, when do you enjoy life? My guess is they get a thrill from the power trip.

I don’t care how much money a person has, but that much land is finite unlike money. There is just so much land, and so many that cannot have any. The next life will be much better, a place where all can call their own I assume.

She doesn’t want all the land, just the land next to hers.
