Well the IMF/World Bank has been planning on replacing the Dollar as the reserve currency with SDRs. A bundle of currencies to represent the value containing the Euro, USD, Chinese currency and some others which I do not recall.
I’m not sure what they’ll do with Brits, since they left the Eurozone. They also were agreeing to include China even though China didn’t quite have the gold that the rules had established.
SWIFT is the international electronic financial communications system - heavily dominated by USA. Many countries would like to have a different system to cut down on USA dominance.
