The smart ones will get into the civil service and become the clique of a-holes the competent people have to work around.
The STEM ones will earn lots of money imposing censorship on the U.S. population until either the GOP stops being stupid or until they are abruptly left high and dry when they are replaced either by a worker in the developing world or by an algorithm.
A fair number will ruin their prospects by paying all their attention to being part of a series of witch hunts, they will turn thirty, then forty, and not notice until they see all opportunity for customer service jobs evaporate. From there its a precarious existence. People might listen to a bunch of nonsense being spewed by a fresh-faced 20-something, but people tend to avoid a 40-year-old doing the same thing. There is of course an exception made for lawyers, but there are already too many of those (which is a contributing factor in all of this).
A lot will grow out of it, but by then a lot of damage will be done that they will be kicking themselves for taking part in bringing about.
The women will suffer badly if they succeed in undoing roughly a century of progress. The trans will suffer but it will be short lived as volunteering to essentially become a post-menopausal woman overnight is hazardous to any prospect for a normal lifespan. Its all a bit like the story of the guy who happened upon a tribe that greeted him with gifts and favor and treated him like a king, right up until the time that they pitched him into the volcano as a sacrifice for the volcano god. Don’t be a sacrifice for the volcano god.
Agitators are trained for one purpose, destruction.

No one will be arrested. No one will be lined up and shot or disappear into a gulag. What's already started is the flow of cheap methamphetamine and other illicit drugs into these groups so they can die by their own hand.

Non-profits pay large amounts of money to a few politically connected bosses while underpaying everyone else as compared to workers in the larger economy, which is ironic really.
The ones that don’t end up annoying the civil service merit system employees, or end up being replaced in tech by an algorithm, or being edged out as unskilled workers by the coming generation, will end up among the “virtuous” non-profit drivers of the wealth gap and they will be held hostage to funding every new grant year.

I think there will be a few oligarchs that will make out on the AI driven employment shift, but most people will be well served hunkering down as previous generations have by preserving family ties and any real estate they can lay their hands on and succeed in paying off. The drivers of chaos do not care about the people they manage to con, and this bears repeating, often. There are no lasting prizes for being the victimiest of all the victims, its all just a way to create the mother of all fire sales.
