“[Anna Sandhu] Ray, born in the Unicoi Mountains of Virginia in 1946, began painting at age five. She was working as a television sketch artist for James Earl Ray’s prison escape trial when she met the confessed assassin of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The artist and James Earl Ray married in prison in 1978. The couple divorced 14 years later in 1992.

“Being involved with James Earl Ray ended in my being afraid for my life, and I went into hiding for many years,” Ray said on her website. “In this time I found myself falling deep into depression and found myself painting for many hours per day to keep what sanity I had left.” ...”

Her paintings are better than 90% of what passes for art now a days.
