...Wednesday ...Spears detailed in court testimony the “abusive” nature of the conservatorship that her father... obtained...
...(allegations) including that individuals involved with her conservatorship have forced her to take birth control, preventing her from having another child, put her on lithium after she disagreed with dance choreography, and forced her into concert tours.
...(on) Fox News’ Tucker Carlson, McGowan called Spears’ testimony a “cultural reset” and said she believes the pop star is “ready to blow the lid” on who has wronged her in Hollywood and what has been done to her over the last 13 years.
“...And I know it seems like one person but they’ve done this to women and humans and whistleblowers and people they don’t like and really like you said, Tucker, the people — the monsters in power — that control the puppet, not just her, but like the message it sends to every girl or every boy out there that you are disposable and the elite can own you...”
“I lived in Hollywood at that time [(she) shaved her head] and I’ve made it my life’s mission to tell all of you out there what so many of you really know deep down that fame and Hollywood and the media machine are rotten to the core and they do hurt and they do damage,”
...She got to speak for the first time, I believe, in her life honestly and openly and what has been done to her is horrific. And I know it’s like ‘Why should we care about a rich pop princess, right?’ But I think it’s deeper than that. And I think it goes to what you talk a lot about which goes to the rot and the machine and how society also plays a part in a weird form of oppression...

“and forced her into concert tours”
How does that work?
The same media that can make you a wealthy and popular star can become a cruel master when you don’t spout the politically correct positions online or on late night talk shows or at rallies and awards shows.
Did they become famous because they take these positions or did they take these positions because they got famous?
“contractual obligations”
She didn’t manager her affairs. It was put into the hands of her handlers (father and others).
“Blowing the lid” on the “rot” in Hollywood?
The place has been rotten since two weeks after the movie business moved there.
People think it is wacky to ask if JFK and RFK had Marilyn Monroe killed or drove her to suicide (they certainly compromised the crime scene).
But if the president of the united states and the attorney general can have an affair with and are implicated in (and cover up involvement in) the death of one of the top box office stars “of the day” then they could’ve gotten away with killing anyone.
Big media is nobody’s friend.
“How does that work?”
Spend a day in family court.
Poor Britney is down to her last $60M ...
I do guardianships for a living. The question remains - how do you force someone to go on tour and sing? Someone mentioned contractual obligations, but there is also a Thirteenth Amendment.
You can control my money, and you can set up the venue, but you can’t make me get up there and sing. Not very well, anyway. If you want a good performance, we can talk about loosening up the strings.
I don’t know much about the head shaving event but there was a photographer on scene (no other way to get those photos since the job is done in a matter of minutes).
Those photos allegedly made something like a million dollars in publishing rights that year alone.
Was there a split 60/40 between them?
Was it to eliminate hair as evidence drug testing (wasn’t she in a custody dispute at the time)?
Was it for publicity/at the urging of a publicist?
Was it a cry for attention?
I don’t know why celebrities do things but usually it’s because someone tells them they should do it.
There’s something profoundly wrong with the whole situation. How can a grown adult be legally considered so hampered mentally that she cannot live her live as an adult without a conservator who can make any number of decisions about her day-to-day life, yet that same grown adult be considered competent to headline a Las Vegas show, headline concert tours, etc...
If she’s as mentally diminished and controlled as the media claims, it can only be considered abuse to put her out in front of the public and compel her to perform for years on end.
If she isn’t severely mentally diminished, there’s no reason other than maybe blackmail and brainwashing for her to have remained in this arrangement for this length of time.
I believe she was in a custody dispute and she was rumored to be doing drugs.
Who gives a chit.

Stockholm Syndrome?
I’d imagine that Brian Wilson was declared “not competent” at some point in his adult life while he was still recording albums, signing contracts, and even performing.
Sly Stone may have a similar situation.
Britney is almost 40 years old. Why is her father meddling in her life still?
