But the Government doesn't admit that its "official figures" on illegals are less accurate than its "official figures" on deaths. Rather, it flatly states "11 million" - not "11 million, give or take 10 million" or "11 million, but perhaps as many as 30 million" - a figure that it has not deigned to revise or update in 18 years.
Secondly, even if we were to stipulate that mortality has increased - how are we to know if that increased mortality can be attributed chiefly to COVID? Perhaps it was in fact due primarily to LOCKDOWN measures.

Again, the CDC and Immigration are two different departments with two different levels of difficulty in gathering data.
One (deaths in the country) is less difficult to gather than the other. For one, there is RESISTANCE from many liberal local governments in providing such information to immigration. We do not see such non-cooperation when it comes to reporting deaths.

OK, before we drill down into what the major factors are that are the cause of these increase in mortality, can we first agree that THERE IS A SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN MORTALITY compared to the average of previous years? If we can’t even agree on this, then we can’t even presume to determine the major factors behind the mortality increase.
The feds have reported a significant increase in the number of deaths for 2020. You suggested this could be Covid and/or lockdowns as reasons.
Three other reasons occur to me as possibilities. One is an increase in population. I doubt there was a spike in births or people attaining some magical age at which mortality spikes. I also doubt there was a spike in immigration or illegal invasion.
A second reason would be a decline in medical care. While that seems possible, I think we’d be hearing more stories or studies if that was significant (I do think it may be a problem going forward.)
Saving the best for last, could the increase be a change in reporting? Are illegal invaders’ deaths now being reported, where they weren’t in the past? Alternatively, could the feds just be making numbers up? Would it surprise me if they did?
If anyone has any ideas on how I could check the number of deaths, I’d appreciate it. Would be willing to do some legwork.
