IN SUPPORT OF UININHIBITED ROBUST FREE SPEECH:
After the excellent video about the BRIT, addressing the school board quoted from a 1964 Supreme Court opinion NY vs Sullivan- I looked up the case so that I could get the exact quote for future reference:
The Supreme Court, in an opinion written by Justice William Brennan, reviewed the matter:
“against the background of a profound national commitment to the principle that debate on public issues should be uninhibited, robust, and wide-open, and that it may well include vehement, caustic, and sometimes unpleasantly sharp attacks on government and public officials.”
And should you need to read the quote, to your local school board or other public venue, if you are so inclined, to throw in what the Brit said:
I’ don’t have to be nice to you, and nobody behind me has to be nice to you, and if you don’t like living in the USA, then you go live in Russia, Cuba, or China - this is the first amendment.
thanks, I’m saving that
