Best way to clean up G-mail is to down load your account and cancel it for good.
google is the most data hungry org there is. If you use gmail, you can count on 100% of your correspondences having been saved in their system for life.
I do it the old fashioned way. I sort descending based on size and names and deal with largest attachments first. That gets rid of the bulk of it.
Use Gmail only for junk mail and political mail...
Auto delete every 30-days...
Don’t care who still has it...
If something comes in on Gmail that I want to keep, simply forward it to my private email address which is for friends, family, and financial institutions...
This has worked for past couple of decades just fine after I got to old to be able to easily handle that rug & fire...
I faked my own death.
Just remember that any email over 6 months does not have privacy protection. No warrant needed for the government to read them.
